Thanks for visiting us! For two days this year, Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church at 108 N 5th Street in Rockford, Illinois will be filling downtown with the sounds of Greek music and the tantalizing aromas of Greek delicacies. Join us for music, dancing (both modern and traditional Greek), food, Greek and domestic beers and wines, baked goods, desserts, religious and other Greek themed items for sale, a raffle drawing, and tours of the church.

All of this, and admission is free.  So please come out and join us for the fun and memories. Times are as follows:

Saturday night from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM we welcome Men of Our Times once again filling downtown with everyone’s favorite tunes.

All weekend there will be both modern and traditional Greek music.

Sts. Constantine and Helen’s own dance troupe will be performing traditional Greek dances.

Raffle tickets will be sold all weekend $10 each or 6 for $50. Each prize is a chance to win one of the following: $1,500 Grand Prize, $1,000 2nd Prize, or $500 3rd Prize! Sunday night the drawing will take place and you need not be present to win. Be sure to get your raffle tickets at festival entrance where you purchase your food tickets.

Church Tour

At several times throughout the weekend, guided tours of our church will be offered.  Feel free to join us simply to admire the Byzantine iconography or, if you like, there will be an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.  The tour will include some general information about our faith and its history.  In addition, there will also be many brochures detailing the Orthodox faith should you be interested.

Any Greek event would not be complete without feasting!  Below are some of the delicacies that await.


GYROS are a perfect blend of seasoned beef and lamb, onions, tomato, and tzatziki sauce all cradled in a warm pita bread.

PASTITSIO is deliciousness baked to perfection. Macaroni and ground beef are layered and topped with béchamel sauce served with Greek salad and warm pita bread.

The SOUVLAKI PLATTER is tender grilled pork kabobs nestled in a rice pilaf served with Greek salad and warm pita bread.

SPANAKOPITA is golden fluffy phyllo triangles stuffed with spinach and Greek cheese.

TYROPITA is also golden fluffy phyllo triangles but with all the room saved for cheese.

ATHENIAN CHICKEN is baked Grecian split chicken breast with olive oil, lemon, and savory spices served with rice pilaf, Greek salad, and warm pita bread.

LOUKANIKO is a seasoned Greek sausage served with tzatziki sauce in warm pita bread.


The COMBINATION PLATTER has one Athenian Chicken Breast and your choice of Souvlaki or Loukaniko sausage, served with rice pilaf, Greek salad, and warm pita bread.


 GREEK SALAD can also be purchased as an entree.  This is a larger portion of salad made with lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, Kalamata olives and feta cheese finished off with homemade Greek dressing and served with warm pita bread.


The OPA! MEZETHES PLATTER is an appetizer sampler consisting of Spanakopita, Tyropita, feta cheese, olives, tomatoes, tzatziki sauce, warm pita bread, and your choice of Loukaniko or Souvlaki.


SAGANAKI is more than delicious food, it’s an experience!  Kefalotyri cheese seared on the grill then flamed with brandy and topped with fresh lemon.


HOT DOGS served with a bag of chips are available for children or anyone not feeling too adventurous in the food department.


CONEY ISLAND DOGS served up with that delicious Coney Island sauce and served with a bag of chips.  Why? Because Greeks played a big part in spreading the Coney Island dog!



The bakery features bread, various Greek cookies and pastries, Greek coffee, frappe, and two special delicacies: baklava sundaes and loukoumades.

LOUKOUMADES are a fried dough drenched in honey and topped with powdered sugar, cinnamon, and/or walnuts.

BAKLAVA SUNDAES are the ultimate dessert! Flaky walnut and phyllo covered in honey all over your choice of one or two scoops of delicious vanilla ice cream. YUM!
